William Powell is a candid, witty and passionate professional who is known for his work over the last decade as an advisor for leadership development, organizational culture development and employee engagement. He is known internationally by for profits, non-profits and individual professionals for his candor and insight not only in the area of self-leadership, but as a valued consultant, dynamic speaker, and trusted coach. William challenges the traditional school of thought and has his finger on the pulse of 21st century business and leadership needs.
As the Executive Director of The Leadership Advisor, William has made it his mission to serve organizations and professionals in order to change the global conversation on leadership. Humor and a light-hearted approach is very much his style, yet still being a focused and responsible leader. This perspective and approach to leadership and business has culminated in William continually helping to perpetuate the idea that humor and responsibility can and should co-exist in leadership.
Having lived in Brazil and Australia for a combined total of nearly 4 years, he has gained insight into what it takes to have a socially and ethnically diverse working environment and do it well. While formally studying leadership in Sydney Australia, William was fortunate to work with one of the largest non-profits in Australia helping with leadership development, team creation & management, and culture development. His experience in working with for profit organizations includes being a change agent for multiple venues and increasing employee engagement on an enterprise level by addressing culture and leadership issues.
William has authored Personal Ecology, a journey into quality self-leadership with a very practical approach. You cannot lead others well until you have learned to lead yourself well first. Currently, he is doing international field research for his next writing project. William is an avid blogger and is a contributing author for B2C Marketing Insider and has been featured on the Achieved Strategies and Lead Change Group blog. The Leadership Advisor blog is featured in the leadership section of Leadership Digital with blogs such as CEO Blog and Michael Lee Stallard.
